The Human Body Is Over 70% Water

But it is not tapwater, not springwater, it’s a special kind of water.
This water is referred to as isotonic seawater because it has the same chemistry as natural seawater, except it's only one quarter as concentrated. This is the water of life that circulates through your body and bathes every cell.

The Discovery
In the late 1800s, the French biologist and physiologist, René Quinton, reasoned that all life originally emerged from the sea. This is why even mammals have diluted seawater as the dominant fluid in the body. This isotonic seawater contains virtually every element on the periodic chart. It’s a powerful ionic nutrient.

To prove his theory of how closely seawater mimics the water of the body, he took a sickly dog and replaced virtually all of the blood with isotonic seawater. The dog not only lived, but was healed of his disease and continued to live for many years. This was an astounding discovery.

Encouraged by this success he administered isotonic seawater intravenous drip to babies suffering from malnutrition and serious illness. All of them recovered and became quite healthy. In total, he saved thousands of babies, children, and adults using isotonic seawater.

Later, during World War I, many soldiers were injured with life-threatening injuries, and there was no blood or plasma for them. Medical personnel were trained to administer intravenous isotonic seawater, which saved thousands of lives.

It works as an oral therapy as well. Plato was said to have claimed that seawater would cure all illnesses. Seawater, isotonic or not, is alkaline and alkalizing water appears to be extremely beneficial for health.

This works so well that the country of Nicaragua has established 117 seawater dispensaries, soon to be 170, where anyone can go and receive free natural seawater which they then dilute with three parts spring water to make it isotonic. Nicaragua is leading the world with this natural therapy, which was once lost due to allopathic medical suppression. This is a nutritional therapy that anyone can use for free. You can collect your own free seawater from 3 feet below the surface in any area free from industrial or sewage pollution. Open ocean seawater is naturally self purifying as long as it is not continuously being polluted. If you don’t have access to ocean water, you can do what we do. You can use reconstituted seawater using natural, mineral-complete sea salt, like Celtic salt, Baja Gold or any sea salt that has all the original minerals (not table salt, which is only sodium chloride). We currently use C-90 sea salt. Jacobson sea salt from Italy has been highly recommended for its purity. Check your favorite online retailers.

Our experience is that we have been healing rapidly. Even decades-old age spots have disappeared. Your skin quality is an indicator of the quality of all the cells and organs in your body. Nicaragua reports thousands of people healing from all kinds of diseases and conditions. Two-time Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Linus Pauling, claimed that all diseases are associated with a mineral deficiency. This is understandable because today the exponential increase in disease is correlated with substantial mineral deficiencies, especially trace mineral deficiencies. According to research, half of all young children and 2/3 of all women have mineral deficiencies. Isotonic seawater has been shown to remineralize the body, restore homeostasis, balance pH, support cellular nutrition, and accomplish detoxification.

The Science of Why It Works
There are over 75,000 enzymes in your body. These enzymes act as catalysts, speeding up the chemical reactions essential for life. Most of them are metabolic enzymes, meaning they are absolutely required for your body's metabolism to function properly. Yet every enzyme requires a specific combination of minerals in order to function. This much we absolutely know for certain, but current research does not yet comprehend what combination of minerals is needed for every one of these 75,000 different enzymes. The common sense thing to do is to provide all the minerals and let the body decide which minerals will pair with each enzyme. This is why isotonic seawater is so powerful. Every mineral you could possibly need for every enzyme is available! Isotonic seawater provides a smorgasbord of mineral nutrition for all the enzymes required for health. These mineral requirements, and the balance needed by the body evolved over millions of years. This is the simplest way to take advantage of nature's wisdom to restore your health.

How to Use It 
Seawater has about 35 to 36g of sea salt per liter of water. Isotonic seawater is 1/4 as concentrated, which is 9g of sea salt per liter. To get to 9g dilution you would need to add three parts spring or well water, but not city water which is polluted with chlorine, fluoride, and possibly other toxic compounds.

Most places don't have access to natural pure seawater. As mentioned, you can do what we do. We use reconstituted seawater by mixing sea salt with pure water. You just need to know how much sea salt to put into whatever size container you have. In America, we don’t usually have one liter containers or jars, but we had jars that hold 30 fluid ounces. A liter is 33.81 fluid ounces. For 30 ounces (30/33.81) x 9g = 7.986 or 8g of sea salt is needed or us to make 30 oz of isotonic seawater. You can find pocket digital scales for under $10 that measure in grams, ounces, and other units. Just weigh out the needed grams of sea salt for however many ounces of water you have. A liter of water would require 9 g of sea salt to be isotonic, if you only have a fraction of a liter, say 12 ounces and a liter = 33.81oz you would reduce the amount proportionally.

Grams = 9g x 12/33.81 = 3.1943g  for 12 oz water. For 24 oz of water 9 x 24/33.81 = 6.3886g  You get the idea.

We have some nice, strong 16 ounce former glass kombucha bottles that we fill with 8 to 15 ounces of isotonic seawater. The recommendation is to drink a couple of ounces of isotonic seawater 15 to 30 minutes before meals. You can also take sips of it throughout the day. Generally about 8 ounces per day is recommended, but you could use twice that much or more if you are mineral deficient. Children would use proportionally less based on body weight. We started with 15 to 16 ounces per day, which is often recommended, and now use only eight as our skin indicated that we are fully hydrated and we both look 10 to 15 years younger after several weeks on this regimen. Once hydrated you can reduce the daily intake to less than 8 oz, perhaps 4 oz. based on your level of hydration. Adjust as needed to keep yourself healthy and hydrated. You will look and feel years younger. In 2025, at 79 years old, most people have no idea of my real age.

Reinventing Agriculture
Seawater is not just a rejuvenant for people, it can restore our ecosystem. One of the reasons we have so many health problems is that our agriculture no longer produces mineral rich food. Our agricultural practices have destroyed the quality of the soil, making it necessary to force-feed our agriculture with synthetic fertilizers for growth and toxic pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides to protect the resulting weak crops from damage. These poisons further destroy the soil ecosystem. This is a totally unsustainable agriculture that is causing the rapid deterioration of public health.

Chemical Engineers + Farmers = Soil Death + Human Disease

We need non-toxic, life-affirming agriculture to restore our soils and prevent human disease. Sea minerals can do the same thing for agriculture that it does for people.

One of the great pioneers in this field was Maynard Murray, M.D. who demonstrated that diluted seawater could grow better crops with greater nutrition and better taste than anything that came from the agricultural fields. His book, Sea Energy Agriculture, chronicles his experiments and opens the door to a whole new field of high mineral agriculture.

To give a sneak peak, one of the reasons for so much rejuvenation is that soil, when slightly salty, favors the growth of Lactobacillus bacteria. Probiotic bacteria are the basis of soil life just as plankton are the basis of sea life. They are at the bottom of the food chain and are the basis of restoring carbon and the growth of all complex life in the soil. It's too much to go into here, but perhaps in a later blog post we can explore this system of agriculture. Here's the basics.

Seawater + Carbohydrates = Carbon Sequestration + Explosion of Soil Life

Salt in low concentrations (typically <1%) can inhibit competitors while not harming Lactobacillus bacteria. Soil life can multiply every hour with the addition of lactobacillus bacteria fed with sugars in a slightly salty ecosystem. In soil with added sugar, such as molasses, and slight salt, we can expect a doubling every 2–4 hours if conditions are warm, moist, and oxygen-limited.

So in 24 hours, under favorable field conditions:
    •    One cell could theoretically yield millions to billions.
    •    Inoculated colonies can multiply 1000x or more in a single day.

You get the idea. We get a massive explosion of soil rejuvenation. The addition of Lactobacillus doesn’t just grow bacteria—it shifts the soil microbiome:

  • Suppresses harmful anaerobes (e.g., Clostridium, Pseudomonas).

  • Produces lactic acid and enzymes that stimulate fungal and microbial diversity.

  • Releases nutrients by breaking down organic matter and unlocking bound minerals.

Soil life biomass (measurable via microbial respiration or plate counts) can increase 2x–10x over a few days, with peak activity around 3–5 days post-inoculation under warm, moist conditions.

How to Use Sea Salt for Gardening

For the production of all crops and plants, suitable for organic farming, here are some general guidelines recommended by Sea-90.com

Broadcast: Spread 50 - 100 lbs. per acre in the late fall and / or early spring. Maximum of 150 lbs. per acre per year.  It can be used in addition to regular fertilizers.

Compost: Add 5 lbs. per 2,000 lbs. of compost.

Gardening: For existing garden beds, top-dress 1 lb. per 100 square feet of soil. If mixing fresh soil, add 2 lbs. per 100 cubic feet of soil.
For gardens and flowers, here are additional recommendations.

Fruit and Nut Trees:
In the late fall and / or early spring, dry broadcast sea solids at a rate of 1 lb. per 10 feet of tree height, around the drip line of the tree.  
During the growing season, it can also be used as a foliar spray.

Nitrogen
Tests show that some additional Nitrogen may be needed because sea salt does not contain nitrogen. You may have enough in your soil from decomposition of organic matter, but you may need to add some nitrogen if your plants show signs of deficiency.

Don't add too much. Too much nitrogen that does not get utilized to create useful nitrogen compounds in the plant becomes a toxin when it combines with the natural hydroxide in the body forming peroxynitrite which is a highly destructive compound. It is thought to be the primary cause of Alzheimer's. Both organic and conventional growers use far too much nitrogen to grow produce rapidly, but this practice may be causing a health catastrophe.
